THE MOST WANTED JACKETS / COATS FOR FALL
A/W Trend Forecast 2019
Here are our fall highlights
Whether we like it or not, autumn is just around the corner: fall collections have already started popping up in stores everywhere, as a friendly reminder to bid summer “adieu”. On that note, Stylight has deep-dived into its internal data to find out which trends are going to dominate this season. Looking into the purchasing behaviour of our 12 million monthly users, we’ve seen that customers are already busy buying coats, jackets and blazers (and boots).
That’s not surprising: it is a universally recognised fact that outerwear is truly the hero of any autumn wardrobe. After closely monitoring and comparing the purchasing behaviour for this category between June – August 2018 and June – August 2019, we were able to predict the upcoming trends of the year, but also track the death or evolution of 2018 trends.

BEIGE, OFF-WHITE, EGGSHELL
+117.46%
Increase in searches for sand, beige, eggshell, off-white coloured coats
This year said bye-bye to camel tones, and hello to light beige, off-white and sand. 2018 was the comeback year of the Max Mara camel cashmere coat and peak year of brown teddy jackets. In 2019 trench coats and long cashmere coats are here to stay, but in lighter shades: searches for light-coloured coats and jackets (blazers seem to be less responsive to this trend) have increased by +117% vs last year!

NEON
+81.25%
increase in searches for neon coats, jackets and blazers
Neon has been one of the hottest colours of Spring/Summer 2019 – and if you thought you could get rid of the fluo trend, sorry, but it’s not going to be soon. Even fashion heavyweights Balenciaga and Saint Laurent have integrated the flashy hue into their A/W collections. It’s no wonder that 2019 saw an 80% increase in searches for neon jackets, blazers and coats.
