Thanks to the incredible success of the Crown’s Season 4, which dropped on November 15th, we’re seeing a new found interest for Lady Di’s early preppy style, recreated ever so punctually by the show’s costume design. Within one week of the show’s release, on Stylight we’ve seen an increase on clicks for some of Lady Di’s staple fashion items: +108% clicks on pussybow blouses, which she chose to wear for her public engagement announcement, +54% more clicks for collared dresses, which she famously wore for the royal tour of Australia, and +162% for pearl earrings, one of her classic accessories. And remember Diana’s iconic pink gingham pants, which Emma Corrin (who plays her in the series) wears while rollerskating down Kensington Palace? Again, according to Google Trends, search interest for “pink gingham” rose by 35% within a week of the show’s drop. Lady Di: once a fashion icon, always a fashion icon.
